it’s ‘lalu’ time again!

The ever irrepressible RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav is out on bail again. Indicating a behind the doors understanding with the ruling Congress, which is busy chalking strategy for the soon to come general elections, Lalu takes on his own and Congress’ enemies as soon as he is out.

Clearly, with the recent four state debacle, Congress has gone back to the drawing board and taking a friends and foes count afresh. Lalu’s release can be termed one such shot for the grand old party. Yesterday Lalu trained guns on Anna Hazare’s version of Lokpal Bill, apart from vowing to defeat arch rivals Nitish Kumar and BJP. But this morning he announced his unflinching support to Congress’s attempts at passing the Lokpal Bill in this session.

If Lalu manages to prevail in Bihar, which is a big state, Congress can have some hope in seeing it’s prince charming in the most coveted, ever elusive PM’s post.

But the Supreme Court’s seeking a clarification on Monday from the Law Commission on disqualifying candidates with criminal cases can be a troubling cog in the wheel.

Will we see a ‘Lalu’ time again?
